The IcedTea project provides a harness to build the source code from
OpenJDK6 using Free Software build tools, along with additional
features such as a PulseAudio sound driver and support for alternative
virtual machines.
A new set of releases for the IcedTea6 series is now available, which
includes a number of bug fixes for issues reported since the last
release. Full details are below.
Please note that, with the imminent release of IcedTea6 1.11, this will
be the last release in the 1.8 series. We also generally recommend that
users start to investigate Java 1.7 and the 2.0 series of IcedTea releases,
as support for the older 1.6 releases will begin to diminish.
