Currently, icedtea only supports building against gtk+ 2.
Gtk+ 3 have been available for a while now, and many big projects such as
firefox have switched or are currently actively switching to it (while
maintaining compatibility with gtk+ 2).
It would be great if we could do the same for icedtea
