[rfe][icedtea-web] Fix RH977880, regression in Javascript interfacing code

This fixes https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=977880.

There was a regression caused during my refactoring of some JS code that 
caused .getClass() to be called on a potentially null value. I have 
looked closely and it doesn't appear there are any other places in this 
file that could have the problem.
