Oops, I forgot to attach the reproducer patch.

It's a custom reproducer because the deadlock only seems to arise when 
the applet is loaded from plain .class files, not in a JAR. The actual 
content of the two reproducers isn't really important - I just decided 
to make them look more or less the same as the ones in the original bug 
report.
