There is a 2.4.2 tarball out in the open since friday: 
http://icedtea.wildebeest.org/download/source/icedtea-2.4.2.tar.xz - 
even though it has not been announced yet.
I built openjdk 7u40_b60 (non-bootstrap build) successfully, using 
that tarball, on Slackware.
