Steps to reproduce:
clean install of Linux Mint 16 KDE
updated OS as far as possible
installed eclipse using repos (version 3.8.1 debbuild)
eclipse starts fine, no problems. 
installing the xtext plugin from eclipse software repository
after accepting license agreement and hitting "install", eclipse crashes with
attatched error message
also tried with installing PHP-Plugin, same crash
