--- Comment #10 from Daniel Moran <xdagarwynn at gmail.com> ---
Andrew,
OK, gathered a little more information on this. Starting to wonder if this is
a disk or file system issue that java is just the unintended victim here.
Used top to more closely monitor - in most cases a thread would be stuck at
100% but not always. So I tried to kill -3 any open java thread and nothing.
Tried also jstack - no luck there either. So started digging through logs and
found notes in apport.log (attached). Also found some crash dumps, which since
they're too big I've placed in rwilco12(dot)com(slash)garwynn(slash)crash for
you to pull/look at if it will help.
Not running out of memory so that's finally ruled out.
Also, when I make a BIOS modification it tends to fix it briefly and then it
will go back to its old habits of crashing with no change on the system that I
can find.
Kernel - has happened on every single kernel ever since I put this new
mobo/CPU/RAM in (3.16+). It's where all the problems started. Have run
memtest and various stress/benchmark tests to try and see if it throws any
errors without luck.
