This is not IcedTea. The IcedTea version output looks something like this:

openjdk version "1.8.0_91"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea 3.0.1) (Gentoo icedtea-3.0.1)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.91-b14, mixed mode)

However, I could reproduce it with this build.

This does need fixing in OpenJDK and I've re-opened the bug there. However,
getting your distro to fix this will be quickest for you.

I'll keep this bug open in order to fix it in IcedTea.
