Bug ID: 3582
Summary: Headless check failed. You are forced to run without
any graphics
Product: IcedTea-Web
Version: 1.7
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: major
Priority: P5
Component: NetX (javaws)
Assignee: jvanek at redhat.com
Reporter: brian.smith at ge.com
CC: unassigned at icedtea.classpath.org
This *might* be a dupe of 3572.
Error presented;
Headless check failed. You are forced to run without any graphics. IcedTea-Web
can run like this, but your app probably not. This is likely bug in your
system.

Type `exit` to terminate ITW, or type one of the below values. Prefix answer by
"R " to remember decision and by "RC " to do so for whole codebase.
[YES, NO, SANDBOX]
---------------
java-1.8.0-openjdk-1.8.0.171-7.b10.el7.x86_64
java-1.8.0-openjdk-headless-1.8.0.171-7.b10.el7.x86_64
java-1.8.0-openjdk-devel-1.8.0.171-7.b10.el7.x86_64
icedtea-web-1.7.1-1.el7.x86_64
The *might* part though. This is running inside of Virtual Machine hosted in a
vSphere Cluster. It is primarily accessed through the console of VMWare
Workstation.
This identical setup is ran on a physical HP Workstation, and it behaves
normally. The Prompts are presented as Windows instead of through the console.
I was able to generate this error by going to Terminal Window, and launching
Firefox. It appears that javaws.itweb is then outputting to stdout because it
assumes I do not have a display.
I am happy to post any additional logs you may wish. On a happy note, if I
enter YES a bunch of times, my JNLP loads the JAR files, and it does work.
