another java 8 strangeness

Doug --

Are these internal JIRA issues viewable by folks outside Oracle?

Is this JDK8 issue something recent and does it go beyond just igv?  We have been using JDK8 with graal for at least 6 months now with no problems (except of course not being able to use Eclipse).

Yes. We have an internal JIRA issue for migrating to JDK8 but we are not there yet. Until it's officially supported, I recommend staying with JDK7 for Graal development.
