The results of -march=native are more interesting/useful if
we also know what exact CPU this was compiled on.
Obviously we can't use that option directly in JDK builds but
it may be that we could make some judgement about whether
it is acceptable to trade slow-downs on some rarer CPUs for
speed-ups on more common CPUs. But you need to be careful
not to (a) prevent JDK running at all on the older CPU which
lacks some instruction, or (b) optimising for today's CPUs at
the expense of the next generation or two, which is more likely to
be where JDK 9 is run ..
