Since we have no agreed policies about coding style, this document *is* 
nothing but a tutorial and suggestion! If you follow these guidelines, 
you patch is much more likely to be accepted by the Reviewers, than if 
it violates them.

I for one would love to see an official coding style policy, but that 
has been an on-and-off discussion for years. In the meantime, the 
Developer Guide is definitely the right place to put Andreas' contribution.
