Helping with the port?

I've been looking through the archives and am interested in helping. What is
needed to be done right now?

- Mercurial repository?
- I hear you have some patches that might be helpful in building for Haiku
- Are we cross-compiling or building on top of Haiku?
- How far can one get right now?
- How does MakeDeps play into all this?

I know Java and some C/C++. I have access to machines running Linux, Windows
and OSX, and Haiku running in a VM. I'd like to try and help get this port
going again.
