I don't understand why you are so keen to shut down other people's lists.
Maybe you have good intentions but it feels misplaced to me.

I think the list owners should feel free decide if or when they want to 
do this without any pressure
and it seems very wrong that you would feel entitled to go ask openjdk 
ops to shut down someone
else's list.
