I wrote it to help debug the sparc port.  I don't think it has found  
many bugs since then.  I suppose it could be retired, and resurrected  
easily enough if somebody wanted it.  It certainly doesn't need to be  
in the AD file; it could be refactored (with some care) into  
assembler_sparc.
