src/hotspot/os/linux/os_linux.cpp line 278:

We now have this code twice in `os_linux.cpp`. Could we parameterize this and extract as a function so that we avoid the duplication from lines 226-236?

It would probably be a good idea to add a comment describing what the actual difference is between free/available (i.e. Linux only and usually `available memory > free memory` on such systems).
