Thank you @valeriepeng, @iwanowww, and @eme64 for your comments.  After code review comment updates, all recommended regression tests have been executed and have passed (with all known failures).  Benchmarks have been reran in each of the modes supported by intrinsics and these results have matched to those of pre-code review update.
