Which parts of the binary blob are actually needed?

This mailing list is for jvm development. Some of us here can barely 
spell jdk let alone build it (speaking for myself certainly). I think 
you probably want to ask this on build-dev at openjdk.java.net

In addition I think all the mailing lists moved from 
... at openjdk.dev.java.net to ... at openjdk.java.net  as of JavaOne so 
people might want to update address books.
