Give it a try and tell us how it goes. I'm pretty sure you're the first 
person to use Kaffe
 on Syllable to bootstrap OpenJDK. Chances are you'd need to tweak some 
things,
as I don't think Kaffe has been used to bootstrap OpenJDK before,
so don't hesitate to ping me on #openjdk, or alternatively try using 
Cacao, where
Christian has put some work into the bootstrap scenario, afaik.
