hg: jdk7/hotspot/hotspot: 6788797: Fork HS14 to HS15 - renumber Major and build numbers of JVM

Hi Christian,

Hotspot productization is largely date-driven to align with other
software deliveries or hardware launches. Thus, such milestones can't be
public. Hotspot features are mostly on a train model... when ready, they
get picked up and delivered in the next release, or in some cases
'turned on'.

At the moment, HS15 is open for business, but is not yet fully planned.
It's a great time to integrate features and higher risk bugfixes that
require more extended bake time to fully stabilize. January will be a
good time to assess the progress of various projects and determine which
might align best with HS15. The challenge is the endgame is currently
undefined and depends on several moving targets several months into
2009. Java is a pretty big ecosystem with Hotspot at the center.

Although not definitive, I hope this helps provide some additional
context for Hotspot releases and how things are basically managed.
Going forward, we hope to externalize more of the process to the extent
it's possible and there is sufficient bandwidth to manage things. This
will help improve both transparency and participation.

Thanks,

Jim
