Saving the code cache between runs

I know this topic has come up before, so feel free to punt me to the 
archives or a FAQ or something, but is there any work being done or any 
planned work relating to saving compiler output between runs? I've heard 
descriptions of the complexity involved, but given the recent efforts to 
improve the startup/warmup time of the JVM, being able to "start hot" 
seems like it would be worth quite a bit of pain.

Any pointers?
