One small suggestion to slightly appease the nanny-state folks.
How about burying the annotation one lever deeper to
java.util.concurrent.atomic. This seems to impact only vmSymbols.hpp:

    template(java_util_concurrent_Contended_signature, 
"Ljava/util/concurrent/Contended;")

-> Ljava/util/concurrent/atomic/Contended;
