[8u20] RFR(XXS): JDK-8040244 compiler/whitebox/IsMethodCompilableTest.java fails

Hi,

I would like to request a 8u20 backport of JDK-8040244.

The change was pushed to jdk 9 yesterday and has passed one nightly 
without problems. The change applies to 8u without conflicts.
