Hotspot build broken on Mac 10.8.5 Xcode 4.6.3

I just pulled changes into my repo which include this fix :-

8037816: Fix for 8036122 breaks build with Xcode5/clang
Summary: Repaired or selectively disabled offending formats; 
future-proofed with additional checking
Reviewed-by: kvn, jrose, stefank

and I'm seeing the exact same issue discussed here :-

Any idea when this'll get resolved, or if there's a workaround I can apply ?
