[8u40] Request for approval: Backport of 8057622(S)

Hi,


I would like to request the backport of the fix for JDK-8057622 to 8u40. 
The changes were pushed on November 6, 2014, nightly testing shows no 
problems.

Unfortunately, the patch does not apply cleanly.
