[8u40] Bulk backport request: 8046268, 8060454, 8061486, 8061983

Hi,

please review this bulk request to backport the following fixes for the Whitebox
API tests into 8u40.

For 8046268 I had to remove the "- * @ignore 8046268" changes because the tests
were not quarantined in 8u40. New webrev for this fix:

The other changes apply cleanly. Nightly testing showed no problems.
