Hi,

please review the following backports:

(1) 8079343: Crash in PhaseIdealLoop with "assert(!had_error) failed: bad dominance"

(2) 8078497: C2's superword optimization causes unaligned memory accesses

The changes were pushed to JDK 9 on Monday and nightly testing showed no problems.

(2) does not apply cleanly because JDK-8076523 [1] was not backported. Here is the updated webrev:
