@rvansa the base version of this PR is quite old. Please merge with the latest JDK repo before we integrate it into the mainline.

How much testing have you done on your side? On what platforms?

After you merge, someone at Oracle will run it on our testing pipeline and will sponsor it after all tests are clean.
