Hi John,

Not a review (I may get to that :-)), but please use the original
issue number (7200261) in the changeset comment and other references,
and close 8001985 as a dup.

Otherwise, it's much harder to track the fact that 7200261 was
backported, and automated tools will miss that fact entirely.
