Subject: RE: See Par New GC 2 time slower on Sun T5220 than on Sun V440

In the efforts of further tuning the Sun T5220 machine, we put about 1.5 times of load the the server and seems GC just went very bad. The throughput dipped several times due GC pause. Can someone provide advices on how to tune the jvm? (or did I maxed out the capacity of this small jvm?)

I have attached the GC output file. In the beginning of the file, you will be able to find all the jvm settings (we are using 1.5 32bit on Solaris 10 SPARC).

I see the following in the log for several times:
437864K->437864K(449408K), 4.9181429 secs]8481.273: [CMS8506.028:
437864K->[CMS-concurrent-mark: 32.097/37.889 secs]
  11888  (concurrent mode failure)[Unloading class hotwire.biz.facade.web.broker.BrokerEjb_cac0kt_HomeImpl_1001_WLStub]

And the tenure space seems filled up also.

Your advice will be very appreciated.

Thanks,
Josh
