JSR 396 (Java SE 21): JEP Proposed to Target: 452: Key Encapsulation Mechanism API

The following JEP with scope "SE" has been proposed to target JDK 21:

  452: Key Encapsulation Mechanism API

  Summary: Introduce an API for key encapsulation mechanisms (KEMs),
  an encryption technique for securing symmetric keys using public key
  cryptography.

The announced deadline for feedback to jdk-dev is Fri 26 May 23:59 UTC:

If there are no unresolved objections at that time, then the JEP will be moved
to the Targeted state, indicating that the feature is expected to appear in
