RFC: Urgent Rollback

Hello all,

Due to a series of serious issues due to poor quality control and sloppy
development practices, I have an urgent rollback patch to apply, can
someone approve and push please?

The patch has been tested once on hardware available at the time of the
initial commit and is believed to be working!
