The following JEP is proposed to target JDK 17:

410: Remove the Experimental AOT and JIT Compiler
       https://openjdk.java.net/jeps/410

Summary: Remove the experimental Java-based ahead-of-time (AOT) and
just-in-time (JIT) compiler. This compiler has seen little use since
its introduction and the effort required to maintain it is significant.
Retain the experimental Java-level JVM compiler interface (JVMCI) so
that developers can continue to use externally-built versions of the
  compiler for JIT compilation.

Feedback on this proposal from JDK Project Committers and Reviewers [1]
is more than welcome, as are reasoned objections. If no such objections
are raised by 23:59 UTC on Thursday, 22 April, or if they’re raised and
then satisfactorily answered, then per the JEP 2.0 process proposal [2]
I’ll target this JEP to JDK 17.
