Subject: [DMARC FAILURE] CFV: New JDK Reviewer: Ralf Schmelter

I hereby nominate Ralf Schmelter (rschmelter)[0] to OpenJDK Reviewer.

Ralf is currently a JDK Committer and a member of the SAP JVM team.

He has a long history in the SAP JVM team and basically knows

each corner of the OpenJDK. In Hotspot, he has deep knowledge of

the various garbage collections, the basic runtime implementation,

debugging and JVMTI support and many more. At SAP, he developed

a row of profiling and supportability tools. A large part

of his changes in OpenJDK address supportability improvements of

the VM, as, e.g., improving the experience of working with heap

dumps[1]. He always follows a global approach, e.g., also addressing

changes needed in tools.

He has contributed overall 32 changes [4] in the past years.

He also already reviewed a row of complex changes.

He is an expert in Windows, which is nowadays rare in the

OpenJDK community.

Votes are due 12:00 CEST on Wednesday, the 6th of October, 2021

Only current OpenJDK Reviewers (and above) [5] are eligible to

vote on this nomination.

Votes must be cast in the open by replying to this mailing list.

For Lazy Consensus voting instructions, see [6].

Best regards,

  Goetz.
