The following JEP is proposed to target JDK 21:
453: Structured Concurrency (Preview)
Summary: Simplify concurrent programming by introducing an API for
structured concurrency. Structured concurrency treats groups of
related tasks running in different threads as a single unit of work,
thereby streamlining error handling and cancellation, improving
reliability, and enhancing observability. This is a preview API.
Feedback on this proposal from JDK Project Committers and Reviewers
is more than welcome, as are reasoned objections. If no such objections
are raised by 23:59 UTC on Tuesday, 6 June, or if they’re raised and
then satisfactorily answered, then per the JEP 2.0 process proposal
I’ll target this JEP to JDK 21.
