The following JEP is proposed to target JDK 22:
463: Implicitly Declared Classes and Instance Main Methods (Second Preview)
https://openjdk.org/jeps/463
Summary: Evolve the Java programming language so that students can
write their first programs without needing to understand language
features designed for large programs. Far from using a separate
dialect of the language, students can write streamlined declarations
for single-class programs and then seamlessly expand their programs
to use more advanced features as their skills grow. This is a preview
language feature.
Feedback on this proposal from JDK Project Committers and Reviewers [1]
is more than welcome, as are reasoned objections. If no such objections
are raised by 20:00 UTC on Tuesday, 28 November, or if they’re raised
and then satisfactorily answered, then per the JEP 2.0 process proposal
[2] I’ll target this JEP to JDK 22.
