The following JEP is proposed to target JDK 26:

500: Prepare to Make Final Mean Final
       https://openjdk.org/jeps/500

Summary: Issue warnings about uses of deep reflection to mutate
final fields. These warnings aim to prepare developers for a future
release that ensures integrity by default by restricting final field
mutation, which will make Java programs safer and potentially faster.
Application developers can avoid both current warnings and future
restrictions by selectively enabling the ability to mutate final fields
  where essential.

Feedback on this proposal from JDK Project Committers and Reviewers [1]
is more than welcome, as are reasoned objections. If no such objections
are raised by 20:00 UTC on Thursday, 6 November, or if they’re raised
and then satisfactorily answered, then per the JEP 2.0 process proposal
[2] I’ll target this JEP to JDK 26.
