thanks for the feedback.
I can understand that something like a glossary would be helpful if you're not into all these abbreviations. I even find myself contemplating about things like "What again does RDP mean?" etc. So, let's see if I can add something like this in a later update.
As for the update versioning scheme: I don't know of a link that explains the numbering for JDK8u. I think it's incremented by ten each quarter, such as 802, 812, 822 etc. Oracle also does security-only fixes, known as CPU which end with the digit '1', e.g. 801, 811, 821. But for OpenJDK we decided to combine these and don't ship versions with only security fixes.
Regarding Java version 9+: There is a JEP about this topic: https://openjdk.java.net/jeps/223
