My build script is ambitious - it aims to be able to build any jdk source
tree that is buildable.
So it has to know about the jdk(N-1) rule.
An alternative, more complex, algorithm would be to autodetect if jdk(N-1)
hasn't been updated in the last 6-12 months, and if so to switch to jdk(N)
