Ugh, this patch is way too big to be fun.

I read both upstream and this patch side-by-side, and there are no blatant mistakes. Also
cross-checked the patch rejects, and they seem to be reapplied correctly.

Can you please build it with --disable-precompiled-headers, for my sanity?
