that's Debian unstable (GCC 9.3, binutils 2.34, glibc-2.30) and Ubuntu 20.04
(GCC 9.3, binutils 2.34, glibc 2.31). Suspecting toolchain issues, I rebuilt
with GCC 8.4 with the same result. Note that hardening flags (-fPIE,
-fstack-protector-strong) are used.

The 13.0.3+3 release builds fine with a bootcycle build.
