[11u] RFR (S) 8245051: c1 is broken if it is compiled by gcc without -fno-lifetime-dse

The patch does not apply cleanly, because context is different. I reapplied hunks by hand. Field 
initializers need to follow the declaration order, as to not disturb -Wreorder.
