[17u-communication] Invitation for new maintainer

Hi,

after consulting the current OpenJDK 11 Updates maintainer team, 
I want to apply for the role as maintainer of the OpenJDK 17
Updates repository.

I am currently co-maintainer of the OpenJDK 11 Updates 
repository. I backported a large amount of changes to 11u,
participated in crafting the ramp down process and git transition,
and continuously tagged and merged the repositories.
I have contributed many changes to OpenJDK, including the
PPC64, Aix and s390 ports of SAP and JEP 358 "Helpful 
NullPointerExceptions".

With the good experiences of the OpenJDK 11 Updates project, 
I want to set up the OpenJDK 17 Updates project in a similar 
way.  The SAP Java team will help supporting the project, and
I also got the consent of Red Hat, who only made the great 
success of the JDK 11 Updates project possible, to again join in the 
effort. Thus, I would start with the same team of co-maintainers. 
Naturally, I welcome the help of the community, 
without which such a project would not be possible!

As with 11u, I will hold stability as the number one goal of the 
project. This is extremely important  for 17u, as the transition
to 17 from 11, 13 and 15 is easier than that from 8 to 11
and thus happens at a greater pace.
Nevertheless I see the need to eventually also accept feature 
backports, if they are integrated carefully and the risk is
acceptable.

Several engineers of the SAP Java team are members of the 
Vulnerability Group and already, together with Red Hat, prepared the 
embargoed security patches based on git for 11u. SAPs internal
testing setup allows to test the changes prior to releasing them.
This assures timely availability and high quality of these
crucial changes for each release.

I would appreciate support of the community in this role, 
and will try to consider everybody's needs in the project.
