I’d like to request a review for this backport of JDK-8059241

The patch applied cleanly save for the first hunk in compile.cpp which required a small fix.

Hotspot successfully compiled after the patch was applied and Tier1 tests all passed.

There is a small bugtail for this issue, which I’ll be sending reviews out for shortly.
