It looks like I would have to add the comment from the [original commit](https://github.com/openjdk/jdk/commit/3bb469aa4f693231fd61ec0a2e6052e476a9a675), to make this a clean backport, but understand that is discouraged. Which option would you prefer @TheRealMDoerr?
