[jdk21u] RFR: 8316461: Fix: make test outputs TEST SUCCESS after unsuccessful exit

I backport this for parity with 17.0.10-oracle.
I think it should be in 21, too.
There is a PR by Leo Korinth, but he does not integrate it, nor react to tries to communicate.
So I'll just redo this trivial thing.
