I have also done some experiments with jdk8 and I was able to pass builds on `macos-12` + `Xcode 13.1` in [GHA](https://github.com/zzambers/jdk8u-dev/actions/runs/9857418127/job/27216478718).

However I was able to fix this by installing gawk.
