Hi Rob,
the possibility to get changes in by requesting critical approval sounds good, then the date seems more acceptable to me.
The difficulty with the current technical setup is, though, that one can't tell from the git repository whether a fix is in for 23.0.1 through critical request, without digging in JBS. Would it be possible to maintain a jdk23.0.1 branch for that purpose from the cutoff date? The branch should be part of the final release tree and also regularly merge back into the jdk23u main branch.
