This looks ok, but being a code gen change to core functionality, I'd like to see at least tier2 testing pass.

Also please enable GHA tests on your fork. Go to your fork repo page, click on Actions in the upper left, then click on enable workflows (or some such message). Then, to get the bot to run the workflow, merge your branch from master and push.
