Hi all,

  This pull request contains a backport of commit [8e858294](https://github.com/openjdk/jdk/commit/8e8582949669d5f3dcb68886ccb6a719393d1a9e) from the [openjdk/jdk](https://git.openjdk.org/jdk) repository.

The commit being backported was authored by Thomas Schatzl on 11 Feb 2025 and was reviewed by Ivan Walulya and Albert Mingkun Yang.

Since this change did not apply cleanly due to changes in handling remembered sets (group remsets), it needs re-review.
